My photography mistakes

My photography mistakes

As shared previously, I have been travelling for more than a decade which forced me to capture beautiful frames. Prior to that, for about 5 years I was doing photography and the images I clicked were not so good. As Robert Kiyosaki says "Don't waste a good mistake, learn from it.” So in this section, I will  reflect on my photographic journey.

During college I was first introduced to a Japanese camera, “Meikai EL”. I primarily used it for capturing my family’s moments within 36 opportunities. I guess you know what I mean by that J . Then there was a big gap of 5 years before I purchase a Sony DSC-W55 in 2007. This Sony camera had 3x optical zoom and was a 7.2 megapixels.  Then I purchased a Canon 100D and finally now, EOS 7D. In many aspects, all these camera have moved me towards next level of photography.

Missed Opportunities

I am courageous enough to share my failures. Once in a year, I review my old clicks as over time I also mature in my creative journey. With a new level of expertise, I introspect what I could have been done better. As Henry Ford said, “failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”. There is so much to learn from ones own mistakes. If you carefully go through these images you will realize the improvement opportunities in each of them.

My advice will be to learn as much as possible from your mistakes, as you are your best teacher. Critique each of your frames and try to improve upon them.
